Located nearly in the geographical center of Montana, Lewistown ,and the surrounding land form, contain a vast open agricultural area and is also home to several mountain ranges. The area known as the Judith Basin of Central Montana, proudly display its "amber waves of grain" and likewise, its "purple mountain majesties." Owing to its abundance of natural wildlife, pure and crystalline waters, and its gracious citizens, Lewistown is certainly in a class by its self.

The Judith Mountains lie to the northeast, the Big Snowy Mountains lie to the south, the North and South Moccasins are placed north from the city, the distant Highwoods to the far northwest, the Bears Paw to the extreme north and the Little Belt Mountains to the southwest. These island mountains encompass the basin with conditions that are destined to make Lewistown "The Last Best Place."
