Powell "Pike" Landusky is credited as one of the earliest citizens to make camp at the new town of
Maiden. Early photo (above) shows Landusky's cabin at Brewery Gulch. This area is located to the left just as one comes within site of
Maiden if approaching from the west.
In addition to Landusky's mining activities, Pike also operated a livery business.
